Children's Home Society of South Dakota (CHS) announces that Jon Mammenga will be Chief Philanthropy Officer beginning July 25, 2022.

“We are delighted to bring in Jon to lead the Children's Home Foundation and become part of the executive team," said CHS CEO Michelle Lavallee. "His experience, network and knowledge of South Dakota are unparalleled.”

Most recently, Mammenga was associate vice president for development at Augustana University. Prior to that, he held a variety of positions at the University of South Dakota Foundation for six years.

“We looked at a number of very well-qualified candidates from around the region," said Julie Anderson Friesen, Board President of the Children's Home Foundation. “Jon brings to the table exactly the balance we were seeking—a seasoned philanthropy professional with a heart for our mission, excellent strategic thinking and in-depth knowledge of progressive fundraising practices.”

Mammenga is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) and earned a Certificate in Fundraising Management from Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. He graduated from the University of South Dakota with a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.

“I'm honored to join the stellar team at Children's Home Society and the Children's Home Foundation," Mammega said. "The organization is enormously successful in achieving its mission, and I am excited to become part of that success.”
