Rapid City, SD…Kara Flynn has joined Children’s Home Foundation (CHF) in a new role as Director of Development, based in the Black Hills.

Previously, Flynn served on the Children’s Home Foundation Board of Directors and was Executive Director of the Rapid City School Foundation.

"We are excited to welcome Kara in her new role on the Children’s Home team,” said Chief Philanthropy Officer Jon Mammenga. “She joins us at a time of transformation, as we begin designing Children’s Home Society’s new Rapid City facility at the old National American University campus.”

“Kara is a seasoned fundraising professional with a heart for our mission and those we serve. As a resident of Rapid City, she will be able to utilize her network to fully express our breadth of services and the impact our programs have on the community and the state,” he said.

Flynn also serves on the boards of Friends of South Dakota Public Broadcasting and the Black Hills Community Theater. She earned a BA in Latin American Studies and International Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MS in Geography from South Dakota State University.

“I am honored to continue my service to Rapid City as the Director of Development for Children's Home Society,” Flynn said. “While serving as a CHF board member, I participated in the unanimous decision to purchase the former NAU building for our new campus.”

“This move will allow us to improve and expand the services we provide to children and families in the community as we bring our residential treatment and school facilities to Rapid City and consolidate all of our Black Hills facilities under one roof. I have worked as a children’s advocate for years and am proud to play a part in creating this new legacy of healing and hope in Rapid City,” she said.
